Chicken Teriyaki

Ingredients/ Συστατικά
  • 700 gr. / 25 oz. chicken breasts, skinless, boneless
  • Sesame oil
  • 80 gr. / 3 oz. all purpose flour (optional)
  • For the Teriyaki Sauce
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • ½ cup mirin
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 500 gr. / 1 lb. broccoli florets
Instructions/ Εκτέλεση
  1. Put the broccoli in a pot with boiling water and boil it according to your liking.
  2. I like it somewhat soft, but feel free to make them crunchy.
  3. In the meantime, prepare the teriyaki sauce by adding all the ingredients in a pot in medium-high heat.
  4. When it starts to boil, lower heat to low and let simmer until the sauce starts to thicken.
  5. Cut the chicken breasts in thin strips and flour them.
  6. If you don't want flouring the chicken you may omit this stage.
  7. Pour the sesame oil to a wok and saute the chicken chunks.
  8. Add the sauce to chicken and saute for another 2 minutes.
  9. If your sauce is not thick enough, add 1 tbsp of corn starch dissolved in 1 tbsp of water.
  10. Serve with the broccoli and steamed rice.
