Easter Cookies (Koulourakia)

Ingredients/ Συστατικά
  • 250 gr. /9 oz. butter
  • 200 gr. /7 oz. sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 400 gr. /14 oz. all-purpose flour
  • 2 vanillins
  • 1 tsp lemon extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 egg (optional)
Instructions/ Εκτέλεση
  1. Put the sugar to the blender and make it fine.
  2. In the mixer bowl add the butter and sugar and whisk until it takes a pale yellow color.
  3. Add the egg the vanillins and the lemon extract and continue to whisk.
  4. Add the flour the baking powder and the salt and continue a gain to whisk.
  5. The dough is very soft but it is easily shaped.
  6. Coat a baking tray with a parchment paper and put the koulourakia there.
  7. Brush with a slightly whisked egg (optional).
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C/350°F for 20 to 25 minutes or until they take a nice golden color on top.
