Sourdough Crusty Bread

Ingredients/ Συστατικά
  • 227 gr. / 8 oz. sourdough starter
  • 340 gr. / 12 oz. lukewarm water
  • 2 tsp instant yeast
  • 14 gr. / ½ oz. sugar
  • 2½ tsp salt
  • 602 gr. / 21 ¼ oz. All-Purpose Flour
Instructions/ Εκτέλεση
  1. In your mixer bowl mix all of the ingredients with the hook to form a smooth dough.
  2. Allow the dough to rise, in a covered bowl, until it's doubled in size, about 90 minutes.
  3. Divide the dough in half.
  4. Shape the dough into two oval loaves.
  5. Place the loaves on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper.
  6. Cover and let rise until very puffy, about 1 hour.
  7. Towards the end of the rising time, preheat the oven to 200° C / 400°F.
  8. Spray the loaves with lukewarm water.
  9. Make two fairly deep diagonal slashes in each.
  10. Bake the bread for 25 to 30 minutes or until its color becomes very deep golden brown.
  11. Remove from the oven, and cool on a rack.
