Chocolate Torte

Ingredients/ Συστατικά
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (about 397 gr./14 oz.)
  • 400 gr. / 14 oz. unsweetened chocolate (I used 70% cocoa)
  • 500 gr. / 17 oz. heavy cream
  • 20 lady fingers
  • rum or brandy for brushing the lady fingers
For the Ganache
  • 250 gr. / 9 oz. sweetened condensed milk
  • 150 gr. / 5 oz. water
  • 400 gr. / 14 oz. unsweetened chocolate ( I used 70% cocoa)
  • 40 gr. / 1.5 oz. butter
  • 1 cup whipped cream
Instructions/ Εκτέλεση
  1. We whip the heavy cream until it forms stiff peaks.
  2. We melt the chocolate on a bain-marie.
  3. We incorporate the chocolate batter to the whipped cream and pour the milk.
  4. We mix until they become one.
  5. In a bowl we put the rum or brandy.
  6. On a round pan with diameter about 26 cm / 10 in., we put half of the lady fingers after we baptize them on the rum or brandy.
  7. Above them we put half of the chocolate cream.
  8. Another layer of lady fingers and the rest of the chocolate cream.
  9. We put the sweet in the fridge and we make the chocolate ganache as follows.
For the Ganache
  1. We melt the chocolate in bain-marie.
  2. We heat the milk with the water and we pour it to the chocolate.
  3. Add the butter and whisk until well incorporated.
  4. We place it in the fridge for a few minutes until the sauce starts to thicken and throw it over the torte.
  5. We garnish with whipped cream or anything that you like.
