I am sure you all have found yourself under a situation where friends are about to arrive unexpectedly. Either because they just happened to be in the neiborhood and thought to drop by and say hi, or because they called and one of the members of your family including you, had the sudden idea that instead of saying everything over the phone, just ask them to come over. Usually, in such cases, I go to a pastry shop close to my home and buy something. This time I thought I’d make something here at home and try to control the calories and ingredients in it.
As I was browsing the other time on the internet, my eye caught a recipe from Pillsbury’s site for a very easy and quick sweet to make at home. Well, that was my recipe to go. I can tell you this recipe is made in no time and I mean that. It is so easy even my son can make it, if I get him to commit himself in doing so. Very simple ingredients and the end result is great. I will be making this again and this time I will try to improvise more than I did this time. If you want the original recipe you can find it here.

Yogurt Tart

Ingredients
200 gr. chocolate cookies, crumbled like in cheesecake (you can use any cookies you like I do not think it will change the end result)
3 tbsp melted margarine
2X200ml strawberry yogurt
200 ml heavy cream
4 chocolate cookies, crumbled
½ tsp vanilla syrup or extract
2 tbsp caster sugar
Chocolate flakes for garnishing

Instructions

Take a cheesecake pan around with 20cm diameter.
Mix the crumbled cookies with the melted margarine.
Put the paste to the pan and press so as to cover the bottom of the pan, just like you do in the cheesecake.
Spread the strawberry yogurt above it.
Now spread the 4 crumbled cookies.
At this point if you have fresh strawberries by all means cut them in half and arrange them on top of the crumbled cookies.
I, as you can understand, didn’t have any in my fridge, and so I went along with the pieces already existed in the yogurt.
Whip the heavy cream with the vanilla syrup and the caster sugar until it becomes Chantilly.
Spread this over the yogurt.
Cover and put in the freezer, until your guests arrive, or if you do not expect anyone and just want it for yourself, as long as you can wait (even overnight would do).
Take out of the freezer garnish with the chocolate flakes and serve.
Practically you can use any garnish you like.
I love chocolate and so I have no other choice as you can understand.

Τάρτα με Γιαούρτι και Φράουλα

Ingredients/ Συστατικά
  • 200 γρ. μπισκότα σοκολάτας περασμένα στο μπλέντερ
  • 3 κ.σ. λιωμένο βούτυρο
  • 2Χ200ml γιαούρτι με γεύση φράουλας
  • 200 ml κρέμα γάλακτος
  • 4 μπισκότα σοκολάτας χοντροκομμένα
  • ½ κ.γ. σιρόπι βανίλιας ή μία βανιλίνη
  • 2 κ.σ. ζάχαρη άχνη
  • νιφάδες σοκολάτας για το γαρνίρισμα
Instructions/ Εκτέλεση
  1. Χτυπάμε την κρέμα γάλακτος σε σαντιγύ προσθέτοντας τη βανίλια και τη ζάχαρη.
  2. Παίρνουμε ένα ταψάκι στρογγυλό με διάμετρο 20 cm και αποσπώμενα πλαινά.
  3. Ανακατεύουμε τα τριμμένα μπισκότα με το βούτυρο.
  4. Απλώνουμε αυτό το μίγμα στον πάτο του ταψιού και το στρώνουμε όπως στο cheesecake.
  5. Απλώνουμε το γιαούρτι με γεύση φράουλας.
  6. Ρίχνουμε διάσμαρτα τα χοντροκομμένα μπισκότα.
  7. Αν θέλετε μπορείτε να προσθέσετε και κομμένες φράουλες.
  8. Από πάνω απλώνουμε τη σαντιγύ.
  9. Το βάζουμε στην κατάψυξη μέχρι να το σερβίρουμε.
  10. Λίγο πριν το σερβίρουμε το γαρνίρουμε με τις νιφάδες σοκολάτας.
