  • 6 stale Arabic pitas cut in squares
  • ½ cup dried nuts, chopped (I used walnuts, pecans, hazelnuts, almonds)
  • 1 handful raisins
  • 1 handful whole almonds
  • 1 handful pistachios
  • 100 gr./ 3.5 oz. chocolate, chopped
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1 can sweetened milk
  • ½ tsp cinnamon

  1. Scald the milks alon15g with the cinnamon so they are hot but not bubbly.
  2. In a rounded soufflé bowl place half of the stale Arabic pita pieces in a layer.
  3. Throw the ½ cup of the chopped nuts, the raisins, the almonds and the chocolate.
  4. On top arrange the rest of the stale Arabic pita pieces.
  5. Pour the scalded milks and sprinkle the pistachios.
  6. Let it stay for 10 to 20 minutes so as for the milk to be absorbed by the pitas.
  7. In the meantime preheat oven to 175°C/350°F.
  8. Place the bowl on the lower level of the oven and bake for about 20 to 30 minutes.
  9. Remove from the oven.
  10. Let it rest for 5 minutes and serve.
