Yogurt Chicken

  • 700 gr./ 25 oz. chicken breasts, boneless, skinless
  • 1 big white onion, mashed in your blender
  • 2 tbsp margarine
  • 1 cup dry white wine
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • ¼ tsp dried basil
  • Pinch of estragon
  • ¼ tsp green pepper
  • Salt, pepper
  • ¼ tsp paprika
  • Basmati rice
Instructions/ Εκτέλεση
  1. Place the yogurt in one of the filters we use to make coffee and let it strain.
  2. In the meantime, prepare the chicken.
  3. Cut chicken in julienne pieces.
  4. In a skillet put the 2 tbsp of margarine and in medium heat sauté the onion.
  5. We don’t want it to become brown just to turn to yellow and soften a little bit.
  6. Throw the chicken pieces and sauté for a little while.
  7. We don’t want it to become brown just to take a nice yellow color.
  8. Throw the wine, deglaze the skillet and let it cook in medium-low for half an hour.
  9. After this half hour in a bowl throw the yogurt, the egg, one cup of the chicken sauce and all the spices and herbs except the paprika.
  10. Whisk until everything is incorporated.
  11. Take a Pyrex or any glass pan and arrange the chicken pieces so us to be the one next to the other.
  12. Pour the yogurt sauce and sprinkle the paprika.
  13. Preheat broiler to 225° C/ 437° F and place it in the middle of your oven.
  14. Please do me a favor, do not leave the oven unattended, just stay close because it gets burnt vary easily.
  15. Mine took ten minutes to take a beautiful golden color.
  16. You have to check regularly.
  17. Take it out and serve over basmati rice.
