Janet's Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1¼ cup sugar
  • 1 stick approx. 112 grams butter at room temperature
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream I substituted with yogurt
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions/ Εκτέλεση
  1. Preheat oven to 175°C / 350°F.
  2. Grease a 26 cm / 10 in. round baking pan.
  3. In a medium bowl mix the flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda.
  4. In a small bowl combine ¼ cup sugar with the cinnamon.
  5. In an electric mixer beat the butter with the 1 cup sugar until fluffy about 2 minutes.
  6. Then add the eggs one at a time, add the cream or yogurt and the vanilla.
  7. Fold in the flour at low speed spoonful by spoonful until just combined.
  8. Pour half the batter into the baking pan and sprinkle half the cinnamon-sugar mix and half the chocolate chips.
  9. Above it spoon the remaining batter and finish it up by sprinkling the remaining cinnamon-sugar mix and the chocolate chips.
  10. Bake until golden.
  11. It took me around 30 to 35 minutes.
