Spaghetti with Tuna Sauce

Ingredients/ Συστατικά
  • 450 gr. / 16 oz. canned tuna in water
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • Olive oil for sautéing the onions
  • 2 ½ cups tomato juice
  • 2 tsp double concentrated tomato paste
  • Salt, pepper
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 500 gr. / 18 oz. spaghetti (or any other pasta you like)
Instructions/ Εκτέλεση
  1. In a pot cook pasta, according to your liking.
  2. While pasta is cooking make the tuna sauce.
  3. In a pot pour the olive oil and sauté the onions in medium heat until they become soft.
  4. Add the tomato juice, tomato paste, salt, pepper, sugar and oregano and bring to gentle boil.
  5. Boil for 3 to five minutes and then add the tuna drained from its juices.
  6. Crumble the tuna and stir.
  7. Let it simmer for about 10 to 15 more minutes and it is ready.
  8. Serve over pasta and sprinkle some cheese.
