One of the things I really enjoyed when I was studying in the States was doughnuts. I tried all sorts of doughnuts and to tell you the truth, I loved them all. If you made me choose one as my favorite, I would say that Boston cream were the ones that I was buying more often.
One of my local supermarkets, which puts on sale several kitchen gadgets every week, had this cute kitchen gadget for making mini doughnuts. I couldn’t resist the temptation and I bought it straight away.
My kitchen, which I can honestly say that has plenty of space, is completely full of gadgets and small appliances. My husband says that, if anyone gives me x closets, I will buy things for x³ closets lol. His first degree is in mathematics, what do you expect? And I reply to him that if anyone gives him y food, he will always want yᶯ where n→∞(n approaches infinity). I was good in mathematics too you know. 😆
Anyway, to make the long story short, I bought the thing and I couldn’t wait to try it. For completing my mission, I had to find a recipe that was suitable for baked doughnuts and made small quantities, because in any other case, I would bake for ages these tiny cuties. And I did find it here made by Jenny Jones and I made them too and they were gone in seconds. I had already taken the ones for the photographs away, otherwise there weren’t going to be any photographs!
They are tasty, they are easy and they are as healthy as a sweet can possibly be. If you feel like it, just give them a try and if you don’t have this gadget, just bake them in a doughnut tray, it’s the same thing.
Mini Doughnuts (Makes about 21 minis)
For the Doughnuts
½ cup flour
2 tbsp sugar
½ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp baking soda
Pinch of salt
A small pinch of nutmeg
¼ cup milk
1 egg
1 tbsp corn oil
½ tsp vanilla
For Frosting
½ cup caster sugar
¼ tsp vanilla
1 tbsp milk
Melted chocolate
Instructions
For the Doughnuts
Mix all the dry ingredients in a bowl.
Whip all the liquid ingredients in another bowl.
Combine and whisk just until everything is incorporated.
Take a piping bag, put it in a glass and pour the batter in it.
Oil and fill the doughnut gadget and bake according to the manufacturer’s instructions or
Oil and fill the doughnut tray and bake in a preheated oven at 200° C/ 400° F for about 15 minutes.
For the Frosting
Make the frosting by combining all the ingredients.
Start with the caster sugar.
Add the vanilla and finally add the milk and whisk. Try adding it little by little so as to accomplish the perfect texture for your frosting.
Place the doughnuts in the frosting and cover them completely.
You can also melt chocolate as I did and either cover them with it or make decorations.

- ½ φλ. αλεύρι
- 2 κ.σ. ζάχαρη
- ½ κ.γ. μπέικιν πάουντερ
- ¼ κ.σ. μαγειρική σόδα
- 1 πρέζα αλάτι
- 1 μικρή πρέζα μοσχοκάρυδο
- ¼ φλ. γάλα
- 1 αυγό
- 1 κ.σ. αραβοσιτέλαιο
- ½ κ.γ. βανίλια
- ½ φλ. ζάχαρη άχνη
- ¼ κ.γ βανίλια
- 1 κ.σ. γάλα
- Λιωμένη σοκολάτα
- Ανακατέψτε όλα τα στερεά συστατικά σε ένα μπολ.
- Χτυπήστε όλα τα υγρά συστατικά σε ένα άλλο μπολ.
- Ενώστε και ανακατέψτε μέχρι να ενσωματωθούν.
- Πάρτε ένα κορνέ, βάλτε το σε ένα ποτήρι για να στερεωθεί και ρίξτε το χυλό μέσα.
- Λαδώστε τη συσκευή για τα ντόνατς ή το ειδικό ταψάκι για τα ντόνατς.
- Αν έχετε συσκευή γεμίστε τις υποδοχές και ψήστε σύμφωνα με τις οδηγίες.
- Αν χρησιμοποιήσετε ταψάκι, γεμίστε τις θήκες με το κορνέ και ψήστε σε προθερμασμένο φούρνο στους 200° C για περίπου 15 λεπτά.
- Φτιάξτε το γλάσο συνδυάζοντας όλα τα συστατικά.
- Ξεκινήστε με τη ζάχαρη άχνη.
- Προσθέστε τη βανίλια και τέλος ρίξτε το γάλα και ανακατέψτε.
- Δοκιμάστε να προσθέσετε το γάλα σιγά-σιγά, έτσι ώστε να επιτευχθεί η τέλεια υφή για το γλάσο σας που πρέπει να είναι πολύ παχύρευστο.
- Με ένα πιρούνι βουτήξτε τα ντόνατς στο γλάσο.
- Μπορείτε επίσης να λιώσετε σοκολάτα, όπως έκανα εγώ και να βουτήξετε τα ντόνατς σ’αυτή.
